The end-of-year holidays are fast approaching, and alcohol, hearty meals, and partying until dawn are at the top of the list. But are you truly prepared for everything that awaits you during this period? Discover tips to fully enjoy the before, during, and after New Year's Eve.
Before the Holidays
It's no secret that a good nap before a party is key to staying up all night. Moreover, the secretion of endorphins is ideal for approaching the festivities calmly.
Next, pre-holiday hydration is also super important. Whether it's with herbal tea, infusion, tea, or simply water: hydrate yourself. This will help you better absorb the alcohol and the hearty meal awaiting you. Furthermore, if you struggle to drink a lot of water, you can opt for water-rich fruits and vegetables like watermelon, melon, cucumber, tomato, etc., to provide your body with another type of hydration and thus eliminate toxins.
It's also well-known that to digest a heavy meal, nothing beats a good workout! To best ingest everything you're going to eat for New Year's Eve, you need to be in great physical shape. Engaging in physical activity before your party contracts your intestinal muscles, thus helping you digest your meals better because your intestinal transit will be in top form.
Before leaving, make sure you've eaten a minimum during the day to prevent alcohol from going to your head too quickly. Drinking on an empty stomach is never a good omen for the rest of the evening; it guarantees headaches and vomiting! To avoid this, we recommend foods that contain good fats like sardines, eggs, or nuts.
⚠️ Alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health, consume in moderation.
During the Holidays
The faster you eat, the more frustrated you'll feel, preventing you from fully enjoying your meal. It's a celebration, so savor every bite, taste, chat, hydrate with water during the meal, take breaks between courses, and everything should go well.
This point is well-known, but we had to remind you: absolutely avoid mixing champagne and wine, or rum and whiskey. Mixing everything means risking getting drunk within a few hours. And that's really not the goal during the end-of-year holidays!
Once the first rule is respected, drink slowly, otherwise the second point will have no impact. Savor your drinks, limit the consumption of overly fatty and salty foods so as not to stimulate your desire to finish your already started glass.

After the Holidays
After eating so well during the holidays, there's nothing better than a good return to a healthy, light, and balanced diet to gradually regain your pre-holiday body. The day after your party, opt for a warm drink to aid digestion. Additionally, for a few weeks, prioritize cooked vegetables without added fats, meat, fish, plant-based proteins, or low-protein fruits.
To eliminate a hangover, nothing beats consuming at least 1.5L of water per day while avoiding caffeine and alcohol as much as possible.
Not only will walks be psychologically beneficial as they allow you to reconnect with yourself to reflect on the past year and the year ahead, but outdoor walks will also allow you to cleanse your lungs while detoxifying your entire body to start this new year 2023 well.
Finally, after the holidays, nothing beats focusing on your new resolutions! Whether they are already written down and you are just looking for a way to implement them, or you have no idea what goals you will set this year, now is the opportune time to reflect on the matter. Step back a little, run a nice hot bath, and take some time for yourself to write down your new resolutions.
